Users can browse by categories within the app, perform direct searches for specific foods, or navigate through an alphabetical list.

The impact of each food on the body is displayed visually using a heart-based rating system:

• Empty heart = highly acidic
• One heart = neutral
• Two hearts = moderately acidic
• Three hearts = alkaline

The higher the number of hearts, the more suitable the food is for inclusion in an alkaline diet.

Assessment methodology:

Notably, numerous alkaline-acid tables are available online, often with significant discrepancies. In developing this database, the creators adopted a holistic approach based on the following principles:

• The more mineral-rich and natural a food is, the more alkaline it tends to be.
• The greater the animal protein content, the more acidic the food generally is.
• Foods containing difficult-to-metabolize ingredients—such as gluten, industrial sugars, or purines—are more acidic.

Furthermore, individual foods were researched extensively and compared across various recognized sources. The evaluation process extended beyond basic PRAL values to encompass a comprehensive nutritional perspective.

Reasons for following an alkaline diet include:

• Alkaline foods are rich in minerals and contribute them to the body during digestion, promoting an overall alkaline metabolic state.
• Highly acidic foods can deplete mineral reserves in the body and influence blood and organ pH levels.
• The body maintains pH balance by mobilizing reserves from bones and other tissues; excessive acid intake can overwhelm these mechanisms, potentially leading to health issues such as gout, where acid crystals deposit in joints.
